The Entrepreneurship Development is one the strategies used by Human Capital & Institutional Development Department (HCID) to increase business starts-ups and in Rwanda. This is done through training and awareness creation aimed at empowering youth and women with entrepreneurial skills to achieve their dreams.

 At RDB we believe that building a young generation of Rwandan entrepreneurs will ultimately lead to vibrant SMEs and also contribute to creating decent jobs and reducing poverty. This program is also aimed at preparing students to start thinking without a box (business, innovation etc). 

 Overall goal:  To build a critical mass of young Rwandan entrepreneurs in the next in the 5 years.

 General objective: Seeks to provide existing and potential entrepreneurs with the right skills and knowledge to become competitive players in the local or global market.

 Specific Objectives 

• Creating awareness of enterprise and self-employment as a career option for students

• Developing positive attitudes towards innovation, enterprise and self-employment.

• Instilling an entrepreneurial mindset to all Rwandans (young & old, male & female)

• To provide Rwandans with entrepreneurial skills to help them run and manage their income generating activities and job creation.

• To encourage new start-ups and support all unique aspects of entrepreneurship.

• Development of competences necessary to a dynamic entrepreneur, critical thinking, decision-making and accountability among others

 Program Coverage 

 RDB administers this program across the country with much emphasis put on Youth and Women that are out of school.
